The Autonomous Region of Madeira recorded 78 road accidents between July 17 and 23, according to the PSP's weekly report.
In total, there were 22 minor injuries, with no serious injuries or fatalities. Funchal had the highest number of incidents with 31 accidents and 13 minor injuries, followed by Machico and Santa Cruz with nine each, and Porto Moniz with eight.
Collisions were the most frequent type of accident, with 58 occurrences, followed by 14 run-offs. During the same period, the PSP arrested 13 drivers for traffic offenses, including eight for driving under the influence of alcohol and five for driving without a legal license.
