The Regional Command of Madeira of the Public Security Police (PSP) released road accident statistics for the region between July 31 and August 6, 2026.
A total of 75 accidents were recorded, causing 23 minor injuries, two serious injuries, and one fatality. Of these accidents, 60 were collisions and 15 were run-offs.
The PSP also reported arrests for drunk driving, with 16 individuals detained for this offense. Additionally, seven drivers were caught operating vehicles without a license.
