The Regional Authority for Economic Activities (ARAE) has been receiving complaints regarding commercial establishments in Madeira that continue to impose minimum limits of five or ten euros for electronic payments.
The Commercial and Industrial Association of Madeira (ACIF) warns that this practice could lead to a loss of customers, as many consumers prefer or need to use these payment methods without restrictions.
The persistence of these minimum limits for electronic payments remains a point of contention for both consumers and businesses on the island.
