The Regional Government of Madeira has announced the allocation of €870,000 to compensate operators in the fishing, aquaculture, and fish processing sectors. This support aims to mitigate the impact of the extraordinary increase in fuel costs recorded in 2026.
Funded by MAR 2030, the program seeks to strengthen companies' capacity to cope with market disruptions, exacerbated by the situation in the Middle East. The goal is to prevent the increased costs from being fully passed on to consumers.
Applications open on September 14 and run until October 14. Of the total amount, €609,000 comes from FEAMPA funding and €261,000 from national funding. The largest portion, €680,000, is designated for the fishing sector, with €70,000 for aquaculture and €120,000 for fish processing and marketing.
