The Regional Government of Madeira has announced an investment of 1.5 million euros for the renewal of equipment at the Caniçal Tunnel. The financial execution of this project will be divided between 2026 and 2027.
The majority of the funds, amounting to 1.33 million euros, will be allocated in 2027, with 166,666.67 euros planned for 2026. The authorization for these budgetary commitments was published in the Official Gazette of the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
This intervention aims to update the technical infrastructure crucial for the tunnel's operation, a key road link on the island. The expenditure will be covered by the Regional Secretariat for Equipment and Infrastructure.
