The Regional Government has awarded 21 Tourism Merit Medals to individuals and entities who have distinguished themselves through their contributions to the tourism sector and the affirmation of Madeira as a tourist destination.
The ceremony took place at the Convent of Santa Clara, attended by the President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque. The distinctions were divided into gold, silver, and bronze categories, including career and contribution awards.
Recipients include Ana Rentróia, Cristiano Andrade, Essential Madeira Islands, João Sanches, Emanuel Caldeira, Francisco Pereira da Silva, Gonçalo de Ornelas Monteiro, Graça Guimarães, Celso Rodrigues, Manuel Trindade, and Teresa Gedge, among others.
The medals were presented one day after the celebration of World Tourism Day.
