The Regional Secretary for Inclusion, Labour and Youth, Paula Margarido, stated that the latest indicators from INE (National Statistics Institute) confirm the solidity of the regional labour market.
The active population reached a new historical high of 142,800 people. According to Margarido, this signifies an increasing number of Madeirans and Porto Santo residents available for work, coupled with decreasing unemployment.
"This is a very clear sign of people's confidence, the dynamism of our economy, and the Region's capacity to create jobs," declared the secretary. The president of the Madeira Employment Institute (IEM), Pedro Gouveia, added that these results reflect the regional economy's dynamism and the Regional Government's continued investment in professional qualification.
Margarido further emphasized that these results represent more employment opportunities, greater stability for families, and encourage the continuation of public policies promoting qualification and employability.
