Regional Government Highlights Stabilization of Essential Food Prices in Madeira

The Regional Government of Madeira has highlighted the "stabilization of essential food prices in the Region" during July, despite concerns about the rising cost of living.

According to the Regional Secretariat for Economy, a basket of 26 essential products saw a slight increase of 0.32%, rising from 82.27 euros in June to 82.53 euros in July. This trend suggests price stabilization, with some categories experiencing decreases, such as meats (-0.22%) and bread and cereals (-3.71%).

Regional Secretary for Economy, José Manuel Rodrigues, stated that price monitoring and transparency contribute to predictable consumption and protect families' purchasing power. Since April, the CabazRAM basket has included immediate discounts, providing a more accurate reflection of actual price impacts on household budgets.
