Rehabilitation works at the Dr. Ângelo Augusto da Silva Basic and Secondary School and its associated gymnasium have been completed. The project, representing an investment of approximately 6.9 million euros (including VAT) by the Regional Government, began in September 2024.
The works involved a deep renovation of the school building, including the restoration of reinforced concrete elements, facade repairs, replacement of windows and elevators, new finishes, and reorganization of rooms and other spaces. Ramps were also installed to improve accessibility.
The gymnasium also underwent interior and exterior interventions, receiving a new floor. The renovation aims to enhance the teaching and working conditions for the school community of 1,036 students, 207 teachers, and 63 non-teaching staff.
