Renting a one-bedroom flat (T1) in Madeira costs a median of 1,295 euros per month, while the price for a room is fixed at 565 euros. This 129% difference places the island among the most expensive markets in the country for renting a T1, surpassed only by Lisbon.
For rooms, Madeira leads the national ranking with a median price of 565 euros per month, ahead of Lisbon and Porto. In Funchal, a T1 costs a median of 1,340 euros and a room 570 euros, a difference of 135%.
The data comes from an Idealista analysis of the long-term rental market in the second quarter of 2026. Nationally, a T1 costs an average of 1,128 euros, 123% more than a room (505 euros).
