The Institute of Forests and Nature Conservation (IFCN) has ordered the closure of all classified hiking trails on Sunday, 8 November, because of forecast bad weather over the weekend.
However, the SIMplifica portal still allows reservations for that date, including the issue of payment references. A test reservation by DIÁRIO for a non-resident was completed successfully.
Some visitors say they reserved and paid after the closure had already been decided. Regulations allow rescheduling or a refund when the IFCN cancels a visit, but it is unclear whether weather-related closures fall under that rule.
