Ribeira Brava hosted the closing celebration for the 'One Day for Life' project, an initiative by the Portuguese Cancer League (LPCC) that mobilized the local community since April.
The provisional assessment indicates over 40,000 euros raised, a figure to be increased by revenue from the two-day festival. The Mayor, Jorge Santos, expressed pride in meeting expectations, highlighting the increase in teams and participants compared to previous editions.
The closing ceremony included 80 survivors and featured a parade, a mass, testimonies, and a candle lighting ceremony. The municipality emphasizes its desire for the support networks and awareness built to remain active in the community.
