Madeira anticipates a week with higher temperatures, especially at altitude, intensified winds on the east coast, and rough seas.

Rising Temperatures and Strong Winds Mark Madeira's June-July Transition

The transition between June and July in Madeira will be marked by a rise in maximum temperatures, reaching around 27ºC in higher areas. An increase in wind intensity is also expected, potentially exceeding operational limits at Madeira Airport.

The forecast indicates more consistent summer weather with generally clear skies. In Funchal, maximum temperatures are expected to be between 26-27ºC, with tropical nights gradually returning from Wednesday. In higher altitude areas, such as Areeiro, temperatures could reach 27ºC by the end of the week.

The northeast wind, generally weak to moderate, will intensify on the east coast, particularly affecting the airport area from Sunday evening until Thursday, with Wednesday being the most critical day. Sea conditions will also worsen, especially on the north coast, with waves potentially reaching 5 meters on Wednesday afternoon.
