Rua João Paulo II, located in the parish of São Martinho in Funchal, has been identified as the address with the highest median price for home purchases in Madeira. Properties advertised on this street reach a median value of 1.5 million euros.
This distinction places the Madeiran street among the most valuable residential locations in Portugal, although still below the prices found in the most exclusive areas of the mainland. The data comes from an analysis by idealista, which compiled the most expensive streets in the country and, separately, the addresses with the highest prices in each district and island analyzed.
Comparatively, the median value on Rua João Paulo II surpasses that recorded on the most expensive streets in districts such as Leiria (842,500 euros) and Viana do Castelo (670,000 euros), according to the same study. The idealista analysis considered median prices for apartments and houses, based on streets with at least ten listings, excluding duplicates.
