The President of the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, Rubina Leal, expressed solidarity with the Venezuelan people following the recent earthquake.
Invited by the Consulate-General of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Leal left a message of condolence in the Book of Condolences. On behalf of the Assembly and the people of Madeira and Porto Santo, she conveyed condolences for the tragedy's consequences and paid tribute to the victims.
Leal highlighted the historical and emotional ties between Madeira and Venezuela, stating that the pain of the Venezuelan people is also the pain of Madeirans. She expressed hope in Venezuelan resilience and mutual aid in the face of the catastrophe.
