The Santa Cruz Municipal Council has carried out repair work on the wooden boardwalk at Reis Magos Beach.
A carpenter was dispatched to the site to fix the pavement, which had developed holes. The intervention follows a report by Funchal Notícias highlighting the dangers these holes posed to beachgoers.
The damaged sections of the boardwalk could have easily led to falls, risking sprains or even fractures for both locals and foreign visitors who frequent the beach.
