The Municipality of Santa Cruz has opened the application period for its Child Support program, which runs until September 30. This initiative aims to help families with the costs associated with attending nurseries and kindergartens, with a particular focus on private institutions.
Established in the 2023/2024 academic year, the program seeks to include middle-class families who might otherwise be excluded from other social support. For the 2025/2026 academic year, the municipality estimates supporting over a thousand families.
Support amounts vary depending on the institution and family situation, ranging from 110 to 330 euros annually for public facilities and 165 to 660 euros annually for private ones. Applications and program management are handled through the Citizen's Portal.
