The São Pedro Parish Council, in collaboration with the Judicial Police, organized a conference last Thursday titled “Computer Scams – Deconstruction and Prevention”. The initiative was aimed at the parish's senior residents.
Chief Inspector Vitor Rodrigues alerted participants to the importance of adopting simple preventive measures to avoid online scams, a crime that often exploits the lesser agility and digital familiarity of the elderly.
Manuel Filipe, President of the São Pedro Parish Council, highlighted that this action aligns with the council's role in promoting prevention, awareness, and civic participation among the population.
