In an interview with DIÁRIO on the occasion of the Council's Day, José Carlos Gonçalves, Mayor of São Vicente, assured that his governance is conducted "from the inside out" and that he does not receive directives from the regional structure of the Chega party.
Gonçalves stated he has a "direct channel" with the party leader, André Ventura, although Ventura was not present at the celebrations for São Vicente's 282nd anniversary. The mayor also mentioned a delay in the audit of municipal accounts and challenged the Regional Government to complete the Estrada das Ginjas project. Furthermore, he addressed the probable installation of a Pingo Doce supermarket and guaranteed he would complete his four-year term.
