A Boeing 787 Dreamliner, linked to the entourage of Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, landed at Madeira Airport around 2:30 PM on August 11, 2026. This marks the first time this aircraft type has landed in the region.

The Crown Prince and a larger entourage are scheduled to arrive on Thursday, with their stay planned until August 19th. They will be staying at a five-star hotel in Funchal.

The plane's earlier arrival was to prepare for the reception of Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is visiting the region to see the homeland of football star Cristiano Ronaldo.
