The Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology is organizing the 2026 School Sports Meeting on July 9th and 10th. The event aims to gather teachers and other professionals involved in the School Sports project in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
The first day, July 9th, will take place at the Dr. Horácio Bento de Gouveia Basic School, featuring presentation sessions, sports-specific meetings, and round tables. The official opening will be chaired by the Regional Director of Education, João Costa e Silva.
On July 10th, a recreational sports activity is planned in Funchal city center, with the Jaime Moniz Secondary School as the meeting point. The event will include participation from Professor Paulo Barrigana, coordinator of the Sintra Athletics Training Center, recognized for his work with young athletes. The initiative is validated for training hours and career progression for teachers.
