The Senior Adventure Games kicked off today in Funchal, with the opening ceremony held at Praça do Município. Approximately 400 participants, organized into 97 teams, were present at the event.
This initiative, running until Friday, is organized by the municipality and aims to promote physical activity and social interaction in various emblematic city spaces. Activities include land navigation, zip-lining, kayaking, adventure bridge, rappelling, and traditional games, taking place in locations such as the Municipal Garden, Cais 8, Baía de São Lázaro, Lido, and Ponta Gorda.
At the opening, councilman Jorge Carvalho thanked participants for their "availability" and "enthusiasm," also commending the collaboration of Professor Rui Cunha and the various institutions involved. The initiative highlights the use of public spaces for meeting and participation, reinforcing the importance of an active and inclusive city.
