The Health Service of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (SESARAM) has announced it will offer 41 medical residency positions this year, an increase of one compared to the previous year.
The approved number of positions represents most of those requested by the region, reflecting SESARAM's consolidated training capacity and recognition. These positions are spread across 24 specialties, including strengthened Internal Medicine training and new areas such as Nephrology, Immunoallergology, Urology, Infectious Diseases, and Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine.
General and Family Medicine remains the specialty with the highest number of positions, totaling 8. SESARAM views this increase as an investment in professional qualification and an enhancement of healthcare quality for Madeira's population.
