The 1st Public Health Unit Conference of the Health Service of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (SESARAM) began today at the Colégio dos Jesuítas in Funchal. The event brings together various health professionals to discuss the latest scientific and technical advances in the field.
The opening session, led by Susana Cunha Gonçalves, highlighted the strategic value of Public Health, emphasizing its importance beyond emergency responses like the COVID-19 pandemic. The strengthening of the unit with new professionals was noted, enhancing its multidisciplinary response capacity.
Over the two days, topics such as vaccination, environmental risks, sexually transmitted infections, and mental health will be addressed, among others.
