The Anjos Teixeira Gallery in Funchal will host Sílvia Vasconcelos on Thursday, August 20, at 7 PM, for a reflection session titled "Theatre as a Political Stage: Memory of a Play".
This event is part of the "History with Stories" program, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Region's Autonomy. It aims to highlight theatre's emancipatory role, its capacity to foster reflection, action, and new forms of social organization.
Sílvia Vasconcelos, who has experience with the Funchal Experimental Theatre and women's rights projects, will discuss theatre as a political act, considering its message, intent, content, and its ability to bring audiences together for listening and feeling. The meeting seeks to debate the role of cultural policies in shaping collective consciousness.
