The delegation of SINERGIA - Energy Union in the Autonomous Region of Madeira met with the JPP Parliamentary Group, represented by deputy Luís Martins, to express concerns about the future of the island's electrical system.
The union highlighted the differences between an interconnected electrical system and an isolated system like Madeira's, where deviations in renewable energy production must be compensated internally. Therefore, SINERGIA emphasizes the need to maintain firm power and storage solutions as a condition for the secure expansion of renewables.
SINERGIA acknowledged EEM Group's investments in the Recovery and Resilience Plan but warned about the variability of meteorological conditions. In telecommunications, it advocated for the preservation and reinforcement in public domain of the EllaLink submarine cable branch, via EMACOM, as a tool to mitigate wholesale costs.
Regarding labor matters, the union conveyed positions on transparent negotiations, a hybrid evaluation system, and the review of the Collective Labor Regulation Instrument, including its extension to other EEM Group companies.
