A South Korean national escaped injury on Wednesday afternoon when the vehicle they were driving crashed and overturned on the road near Lagoa do Fanal, on the Ribeira da Janela–Fanal route.
According to information gathered, the accident occurred when the rental car left the roadway and overturned. Initial indications suggest that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
Despite extensive damage to the vehicle, the man did not require medical assistance or the intervention of firefighters. Several passers-by stopped to help, including members of the Nature Rangers.
