Summer 2026 kicked off with elevated temperatures throughout the Autonomous Region of Madeira. By 2 PM on the first day of summer, all weather stations of the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) recorded maximums above 20 ºC.
Porto Moniz stood out as the warmest location, reaching 27.2 ºC, just a tenth below the previous day's reading. At the other end, Pico Alto registered the lowest maximum temperature at 21.2 ºC. The day was characterized by stable weather and partly cloudy skies.
