The parish of Curral das Freiras, on the island of Madeira, will be in the spotlight with the holding of two religious festivals in August. The celebrations include the feast of the Santíssimo Sacramento and the feast of Nossa Senhora do Livramento, the patron saint of the parish.
The feast of the Santíssimo Sacramento takes place on August 22nd and 23rd, with performances by Yosi Pinto, Grupo Cloud 9, Rancho Folclórico Típico Madeirense (from Brazil), Rancho Folclórico do Arco do Céu do Arcozelo do Cabo, Conjunto Gaudium, and a disco with Gugga.
The feast of Nossa Senhora do Livramento is held on August 29th and 30th. The program includes performances by Conjunto Aoakaso, Vasco Freitas, Grupo de Folclore Costumes e Tradições, Conjunto Banda Fixe, Conjunto Os Lordes, Conjunto Amigos da Música, and Conjunto Montereal.
