The University of Madeira will host a public session on 'Sustainability in Entrepreneurship – The process for ISO 21401 certification' next Tuesday, September 29th. The event, promoted by the Regional Directorate for Competitiveness, Innovation and Sustainability (DRCIS), will take place between 10 AM and 12 PM at the Colégio dos Jesuítas.
The initiative, in partnership with ACIF, APCER, and Savoy Signature, aims to present solutions for integrating sustainability into organizational management while maintaining efficiency and competitiveness. The ISO 21401 standard, which establishes a Sustainability Management System for Accommodation Establishments, will be discussed, detailing the certification process and its benefits.
The standard covers environmental (resource consumption, waste management), social (communities, workers), and economic (financial viability, service quality) dimensions. The session will also cover the integration of ISO 21401 with other management standards and present regional sustainability initiatives, highlighting Savoy Signature's experience in the tourism sector. Participation is free, with prior registration required.
