A total of 175 elderly people in Madeira will benefit from tele-assistance equipment as part of an ADENORMA project. The initiative includes the donation of devices by the company TN21 and involves eight private social solidarity institutions (IPSS) in the region.
Regional Secretary for Inclusion, Work and Youth, Paula Margarido, highlighted the project's importance, explaining that the devices, including a phone and a pendant, allow isolated individuals to activate a button in case of a fall or emergency, summoning help.
This new technology replaces previous solutions with limitations and aims to expand tele-assistance coverage, particularly for the elderly in situations of greater isolation. TN21 not only provides the equipment but also ensures training for its use.
