Madeira island begins July 1st with partly cloudy to clear skies, though periods of increased cloudiness are expected early morning and late in the day. Northeast winds will be light to moderate, strengthening in the highlands and island extremities.
A slight temperature increase is anticipated in mountainous areas. In Funchal, winds will be light, from the east. Waves on the north coast are expected to range between 2 and 2.5 meters, and on the south coast between 1 and 1.5 meters. Sea water temperature will be between 22 and 23ºC.
The IPMA has issued a yellow warning for the island's north coast due to hot weather, effective from 9 AM today until midnight on Thursday. Temperatures will range between 19 and 27ºC in Madeira and 20 to 25ºC in Porto Santo.
