UGT-Madeira attended the XV Congress of UGT Portugal in Figueira da Foz, bringing regional workers' demands to the national debate.
Key issues raised included salary appreciation, strengthening labor rights, and social justice. The delegation, headed by president Leonilde Cassiano, comprised representatives from various regional unions.
The congress adopted the UGT's Programmatic Resolution for 2026-2030, focusing on salary enhancement, collective bargaining, and social security sustainability. UGT currently has approximately 430,000 affiliated workers.
