Venezuelan Care Home Received 15,000 Euros for Post-Earthquake Support

The Lar Padre Joaquim Ferreira, located in Los Anaucos, Venezuela, has received a donation of 15,000 euros. This amount is part of a total aid package of 180,000 euros mobilized by the Regional Government of Madeira to assist the Madeiran community affected by the earthquakes on June 24.

Sancho Gomes, the regional director for Communities and External Cooperation, visited the institution as part of an official trip to Venezuela from October 8 to 20. The home, which shelters elderly members of the Madeiran community, was one of the entities that provided assistance to individuals left without support following the seismic tremors.

Gomes praised the work of the institution and its management, highlighting the care provided to the elderly and the swift recovery of the facilities, which sustained some damage. The Regional Government reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting Madeiran communities abroad.
