A burst water pipe is causing a significant stir in the Ribeira do Tanque area, in the center of Porto Santo. The force of the water has surprised residents and passersby, with a high jet attracting attention.
The Public Security Police (PSP) are on site monitoring the situation. The Porto Santo Volunteer Firefighters were not called, as intervention in the water supply network falls under the jurisdiction of ARM – Águas e Resíduos da Madeira.
The causes of the burst, along with any potential material damage or traffic disruptions, are currently unknown. ARM teams will carry out the repair of the pipeline and contain the water leak.
