A 43-year-old woman fell suddenly ill in the early afternoon near the Centro Comercial Europa in Funchal, with a suspected stroke (acidente vascular cerebral).
The alert was raised at 1:22 p.m. The Madeira Volunteer Firefighters sent one ambulance and two crew members to assist her.
After initial treatment, she was taken to the emergency department of Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça.
