The XXIV Canary Islands – Madeira International Regatta is scheduled for September 1-5, 2026, reaffirming its status as a prestigious long-distance cruising sailing competition in the Atlantic.
Co-organized by the Clube Naval do Funchal and the Real Club Náutico de Tenerife, the event is supported by various sailing federations. The race starts in Tenerife on September 1st, covering approximately 262 nautical miles to the Island of Madeira, with the finish line near Caniço.
The competition features categories for Solo, Doubles, and Teams, within the ORC and OPEN classes. The first boat to cross the finish line will receive the "Dr. Alivar Jones Cardoso" Trophy, with prizes also awarded to the top three finishers in each class.
