The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has extended a yellow warning for hot weather to the entire Autonomous Region of Madeira, covering the North and South coasts, as well as the island of Porto Santo.
The warning, which came into effect on Monday at 6:16 PM, will remain active until 6 PM on Thursday, August 13. The extension is due to the persistence of high maximum temperatures.
This latest extension of the weather alert now covers the entire Madeiran archipelago, following a previous warning that was set to expire on Wednesday.
