41st Regional Folklore Festival Celebrates Madeiran Culture

The 41st edition of the Regional Folklore Festival – 24 Hours of Dancing has opened, bringing together hundreds of participants in a celebration of Madeiran popular culture.

The event features 20 folklore groups and approximately 700 participants showcasing the region's dances, songs, costumes, and customs. All 11 municipalities of Madeira are also represented with stands dedicated to "Traditional Games – Memory of Playing".

Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Fisheries, Nuno Maciel, highlighted the Regional Government's support of 60,000 euros, stating, "Investing in this event is investing in our culture. In who we are." The initiative aims to preserve cultural identity and support the work of folklore groups and associations.
