'50 Years | 50 Braguinhas' Exhibition Celebrates Madeira's Autonomy in Porto Santo

The Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology and the Regional Directorate for Education are presenting the exhibition "50 Years | 50 Braguinhas" in Porto Santo. The initiative celebrates the 50 years of the Autonomous Region of Madeira's Autonomy, using art, education, and the valorization of cultural heritage.

The exhibition, inaugurated on July 22nd in the Porto Santo Municipal Hall, features 50 braguinhas, each reinterpreted as a work of art by students from 18 regional schools and 13 renowned artists. The exhibition will be open to the public until September 10th.

The project, inspired by the motto "What unites us," aims to promote reflection on Madeira's evolution and contemporary artistic expression, integrating the braguinha, a symbol of Madeiran musical tradition, as a creative medium. The initiative is part of the aCORDE Festival program.
