80 Madeiran University Students Gather for Event Focused on Entering the Job Market

The fifth edition of the Madeiran University Students' Meeting (EUMA) is taking place today and tomorrow at the Colégio dos Jesuítas in Funchal, bringing together approximately 80 young people.

The initiative, promoted by the Association of Connected Young Madeirans, aims to connect students with regional opportunities and prepare them for entering the job market through talks, workshops, and networking sessions with companies and associations.

Luísa Pedra, the association's president, highlighted the importance of skills such as CV writing, LinkedIn usage, and soft skills, especially in an era of increasing artificial intelligence. Despite challenges in the transition to the job market, including precarious opportunities and the dilemma of staying on the island versus seeking work elsewhere, the association strives to empower young people through training and professional sessions.
