The ADN party has requested clarification from the Regional Government regarding the implementation of support for beekeepers, based on POSEI guidelines.
Carolina Martins of ADN highlighted that the program sets a maximum of 3,250 hives and 52 tons of honey for support, with a provision for pro-rata distribution if requests exceed available funds. Madeira has 10,977 registered hives.
The party views the support positively but stresses that producers have the right to know in advance not only the announced amount but also the rules that will determine the final sum received by each operation. ADN calls for clarity on eligibility conditions, actions in case of excess applications or funding, and the effect of any pro-rata distribution on different types of operations. Explanations are also sought on planned increases and their interaction with available funds and pro-rata distribution.
