The Anjos Teixeira Gallery in Funchal is hosting a debate on the book "The Leonel Nunes Process – 20 Years of a Labour Case". The event, scheduled for Thursday, August 13th, at 7:00 PM, is part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Regional Autonomy.
The work will be presented by its author, João Lizardo, and will serve as a starting point to discuss the labour case of Leonel Nunes, a figure linked to the trade union movement in Madeira after the 25th of April 1974 revolution. The labour process lasted 20 years, not due to judicial delays, but to difficulties in implementing court decisions, particularly the worker's reinstatement after his dismissal was deemed without just cause.
The session also aims to foster a debate on labour relations and the practical application of judicial decisions, connecting Leonel Nunes's case to current issues in labour legislation. This initiative is part of the "History with stories" program by the Anjos Teixeira Gallery.
