The Bishop of Funchal, D. Nuno Brás, will visit Venezuela from August 12-16 for a solidarity mission and to hold a mass for earthquake victims.

Bishop of Funchal to Celebrate Mass in Venezuela Honoring Earthquake Victims

The Bishop of Funchal, D. Nuno Brás, will be in Venezuela from August 12 to 16, at the invitation of the Archbishop of Caracas, Raul Biord. During the visit, D. Nuno Brás will tour areas affected by earthquakes, accompanied by members of Caritas Venezuela, on a mission of solidarity.

On August 15, the day of Our Lady of the Mount, patron saint of Madeira and emigrants, the prelate will celebrate a mass at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima, honoring the victims of the earthquake. The service will take place at 6:00 PM Venezuelan time.

Additionally, on the same day, but in the morning, D. Nuno Brás will co-celebrate the ordination of Bishop D. José Dionísio Gomes de Gouveia. The visit also includes meetings with affected families, local institutions, and the Madeiran community residing in the country.
