Bishop of Funchal Visits Santa Luzia, Outlines Path to Revitalize Parish

D. Nuno Brás visited the Parish of Santa Luzia in Funchal to understand its reality and set a course for the community.

The Bishop of Funchal, D. Nuno Brás, conducted a pastoral visit to the Parish of Santa Luzia in Funchal. The visit coincided with a change of parish priest and the aim of revitalizing the community as an evangelizing hub in the city.

During his visit, the bishop interacted with final-year students at APEL School and toured the former Seminário da Encarnação building, now home to the International Sharing School – Madeira. D. Nuno Brás expressed his pleasure at seeing the historic building well-maintained and occupied.

The prelate used the occasion to learn about the parish's current needs, which he acknowledged are "many, at all levels." The goal is to chart a course for the parish to once again become a center of evangelization in the city.
