A vessel sank this morning, around 8 am, in the Port of Caniçal, dragging another vessel that was moored nearby with it.
The incident caused no injuries, only material damage to both boats. The Port Captain of Funchal was alerted and dispatched the Maritime Police to the scene, who took charge of the situation.
The Port Authority will now investigate the circumstances of the sinking through an inquiry, which will involve collecting evidence, statements, and analyzing the vessel's condition to determine the cause.
