The Regional Secretariat for Education's Higher Education Access Office supported 1,370 candidates this year, an increase of over 20% compared to 2025, representing more than 230 young people.
The data was revealed by the Regional Secretary for Education, Science and Technology, Elsa Fernandes, during the Madeiran University Students Meeting (EUMA) in Funchal. She assured that the next academic year is being prepared normally and that there will be sufficient teachers.
Elsa Fernandes explained that the 1,370 students assisted are only those who sought the Office's help, excluding those who applied independently online. The office offered 1,700 appointment slots and received approximately 1,500 bookings, retaining capacity for over 200 additional atendees.
