The body of a man was found floating on Almirante Reis beach in Funchal early this morning, September 20th.
The causes of the incident are unknown, Captain Bruno Teles told DIÁRIO. Following an alert received at 6:45 am from members of the public, elements of the local Maritime Police, Madeira Volunteer Firefighters, and the Judiciary Police were immediately activated.
Upon arrival, firefighters had already removed the victim from the water and brought them ashore, where the death was officially recorded by a health delegate. The body was transported to the Medical-Legal and Forensic Office of Madeira, and the Maritime Police are investigating.
