Bruno Melim calls Élvio Sousa a "liar" in ferry link debate

During a debate in the Madeira Legislative Assembly on the ferry link, PSD deputy Bruno Melim directed strong criticism at Élvio Sousa of the JPP. Melim accused Sousa of having a "disturbed personality" and being a "liar", claiming the JPP had shifted its position over time.

Melim questioned Élvio Sousa's stance, referencing an opinion piece from nine years ago and accusing the JPP of a "subservient stance to Spanish interests". The PSD deputy also criticized the proposal to study the link with the Canary Islands, suggesting it could delay the operation.

Independent deputy Miguel Castro also intervened, defending Madeira's institutional right to a ferry link and highlighting the difference between the cost of opening a tender and the cost of operation.
