Business confidence in Madeira increased in September for Construction and Public Works and the Manufacturing Industry. However, Trade and Services experienced a negative trend compared to the previous month, according to qualitative business surveys released by the Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM).
The Manufacturing Industry's confidence recovered after a dip in August, driven by production outlooks and stock levels. Conversely, global demand trends and sales price expectations had a negative impact.
In Construction and Public Works, business confidence also rose in September, reversing the previous month's decline. This increase was positively influenced by order books and employment prospects, although price expectations continued to decrease.
In contrast, the Trade sector saw its confidence indicator fall for the second consecutive month, with activity outlooks and stock levels contributing negatively. In Services, confidence deteriorated for the third month in a row, negatively affected by company activity, order books, and future demand prospects.
